Physical Education

What will the subject enable me to do?

In Physical Education lessons we strive for pupils to develop their confidence and team working skills by taking part in a variety of different physical activities. In addition to this, we learn about the value of leading a healthy and active lifestyle. In lessons, pupils will experience individual and team activities.

Not only do they take part in the lessons as a competitor but they can also take on the role of an official. Pupils in lessons learn how to overcome obstacles and challenges, as well as sometimes overcoming their fears. Regardless of their level of ability they will feel comfortable in the PE Department as every child matters.

In both KS3 and KS4, pupils will experience the following activities: Aerobics, Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Handball, Cricket, Fitness, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Netball, Orienteering, Rounders, Softball, Rugby and Tennis.

We also offer an extensive list of extra-curricular activities to further develop the skills learnt in lessons, with many activities having transferable skills.Extra-curricular activities take place after school and are available to all.
